The WorkingAge research project is going to face its very first session of experiments. Despite the serious Covid-19 health emergency in Europe, all the technical partners developing sensors for the WorkingAge tool are starting to test their solutions: the objective is find the trade-off between accuracy of the measurements and the invasiveness reduction of the equipment. In fact, our main priorities are providing a reliable device that will not interfere during the daily working and life routines of the user. The tests are going to be carried out in remote sessions in this period, the partners will do their best to reach the objectives considering the limitations given by the smart working conditions. The experimental protocols on the test subjects will be carried out once the Covid-19 emergency will be over.

In this first session of tests BrainSigns will test different solutions for Electroencephalography (EEG), Electrodermal Activity (EDA or GSR) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) measurements to identify the best technical combination of device to be integrated in the WorkingAge tool. Collecting these kind of electrophysiological signals, BrainSigns will evaluate the following mental and cognitive states:

  • The Stress index, analysing the one of the component of the Electrodermal Activity.
  • The Mental Workload index, representing the amount of cognitive resources allocated to perform a certain task and computed analysing specific components of the EEG signal.
  • The Emotional States, analysing and combing the features coming from the ECG and Electrodermal Activity.

This session will be a crucial step also to validate the software algorithms, which will be used in the final version of the WorkingAge tool.
